MoJo SMARTPHONE FILMING TRAINING COURSE

About the course

I’ve been delivering versions of this course for over 10 years. This MoJo, or Mobile Journalism course can be been delivered in 5 day, 2 day and 1 day variations. The longer 5 day course is aimed at delegates who will be using the skills in front line journalism or in a media department on a daily basis.

5 day course

Full length version of the course where we are able to watch and discuss a number of long form documentaries and really get an understanding of long form narrative structure.

2 day course

A tighter version of the course losing one of the homework modules, ie one stage of the delegate development process. We also focus down on only a couple of documentaries to study.

1 day course

A very condensed version of the course with little or no room to study any documentaries in full length and missing a couple of the delegate development exercises. But still a very effective course.

Course Summary

COURSE SUMMARY
This course is generally a two day workshop taking delegates through all the detail of shooting broadcast quality video on their Android devices, iPhones or iPads. The course covers what shots you need to get, how to frame interviews, sound and lighting. We look at all the accessories currently available to make your production more professional. The delegates then edit, package and publish their finished films using a smartphone or tablet. This course has been delivered to broadcasters around the world including the BBC and various corporate clients.

WHO’S IT FOR
This course is for anyone at a beginner level wanting to shoot content using their mobile phone to edit themselves at a professional level, for social media output, internal use or even to share with media and broadcast outlets.
